How to Reflect on the Past Year with Intention
Do you feel overwhelmed from the past year? Are you seeking for a way to reset and move forward in an intentional way? It takes a little bit of work to start with intention but it is definitely worth the extra work.
So many of us start the year out strong with big plans and dreams. But we quit before we are ahead because it is overwhelming to get started. I have done the research and perused the resources to make it easier for you to start your new year right with the best intentions. Before we step over the threshold of a new year, we must reflect on the last year of life. Below are some questions that you can ask yourself.
Reflect on the last year:
What were the highlights of this year?
Where did you experience growth?
What challenges helped shape you?
Where did you see God at work?
What habits or rhythms brought you peace? Which ones stole it?
If you struggle with remembering the moments of the past year, you can go to your photo gallery. Sometimes the photos you took throughout the year can be helpful in jogging your memory.
It is important to learn from our past challenges and victories so that we can grow. Our past has so much to teach us. We cannot become better if we do not learn from what we do wrong. We aren’t meant to stay in the same place. Reflection isn’t about staying stuck in the past; it’s about learning, growing, and moving forward with intention.
We aren’t meant to stay in the same place. God is always inviting us into deeper growth, gently guiding us through every season—our victories, our discouragements, and our challenges.
When we take the time to pause, look back, and truly reflect, we begin to see His hand at work in ways we might have missed before.
